5 out of 5 stars Avoid Hassel at Airline Check In - a Must Have!   July 9, 2010

My husband and I love this handy Taylor Luggage scale. Glad it's available for Amazon Prime. We bought one for my parents and they love it too! Comes in handy before we leave the house... and especially as we pack up for the return home flight. Very accurate, compact, light weight - slips into the small suit case pocket. My husband and I have shifted contents between our 2 suitcases to help distribute the luggage weight. Those fancy hotel bath goodies can be heavy -- so, occasionally have to be left behind. If we shop too much on vacation, we always have the option of shipping our purchases back via snail mail. It's good to avoid a costly surprise at check-in when the airline scale flags a suitcase as "over weight." Flying without luggage is expensive enough!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Avoiding Over-Weight Fees   May 26, 2010

This is a perfect travel companion to avoid excess weight baggage fees. I travel a lot for work as well as for pleasure and this scale has helped me and my wife pack smartly to not only avoid the extra fees charged by the airlines for checking over-weight baggage but to also not over pack. This scale is light and small enough to be packed along in your bag to be used for the return trip. This little guy has already saved us its purchase price by avoiding the aforementioned fees but has also helped to avoid the airport floor bag to bag transfer that you see occur before so many flights as people try to shuffle stuff from one bag to another to get under weight!

4 out of 5 stars Great travel tool   April 23, 2010

We purchased one of these a few weeks ago for our trip to Greece... The scale itself works great and a scale of some sort is a must have in this age were airlines have been given free reign by the government to screw over there customers as much as they can get away with (at least in the US). The only complaint I could make about this item is that first and most importantly the unit turns on too easily, as a result the battery gets drained in no time if you don;t remove it for travel.

5 out of 5 stars Easy and accurate and can save a serious traveler a fortune   January 12, 2010

I used this for the first time this week and it saved me $98 ($49 each way)! This is the overage fee many airlines charge for a bag if it is even a half of a pound overweight. Just be sure to allow a pound or two so you can add it to your suit case and have a little bit of weight to spare. I was packing training materials for a trip and stopped at 48.5 pounds at home, then added the scale to my bag. Sure enough, the airline weighed me in at 49.5 pounds and I escaped a $49 penalty each way by the skin of my teeth.

I've tried using the bathroom scale in the past but it has never been that accurate. I travel extensively and I'll never travel without it again!

Pros
- Comfortable, good ergonomics
- Well built
- Easy to use
- Accurate
Cons
- Can't think of one!

5 out of 5 stars Excellent tool with less battery life   December 7, 2009

I bought this scale 6 months ago and served me well for 3 trips i made since then .
when i bought this it worked well but started showing low battery in 2 days !! i bought new battery but still kept on using it with low battery sign and it worked well like that for 6 months with low battery warning although its obvious it is being only few times in 6 months but still it keep on going . Finally i replaced battery and now its working perfect .
I guess the battery that comes with unit is low quality or old/ discharged and thats the reason for battery problem.
Yes its very accurate +/- 0.5 pounds , light weight so great buy i guess
